SUMMARY The .com Top Level Domain (TLD) is controlled by the US, so given the geopolitical situation time to move to .eu TLD. I have registered bitpowder.com in 2001, so after 25 years there is a lot to update if moving top level domains. In this blog post I comment the effort.

After 2 days (part time), the majority of the move was complete. A couple of less used parts of my infrastructure had some lingering references to the .com TLD. Apart from git repo URLs that had to be changed, a lot of Docker images that reference my Docker registry at Gitea used the .com TLD. So, for people considering it: go for it!

Next to my own Gitea instance, I host my own photos and AI chat environment. More switches to come.
